How quickly the memories fade, almost as if one is pouring water onto the porous sand. The shop is over run with people. Everyone is moving and darting around in a mad quirky mob. Going to and fro, back and forth bumping into each other, but not touching. Knocking each other down, but all remaining on their feet. I decide to walk across the street to the house. Such a simple task, but not today. The ground is not solid, alas there is no ground at all, just uneven columns of various sizes, that you have to jump from the top of one to the other. Not very big, some the size of a water glass, but not to land on the top will send you to oblivion.

The house is more crowded than the shop. Who are these people and why have they invaded my space? The pool is full from the deep end to the shallow end and no one is wet. I will go up the road to the top of the hill. Finally some solid ground. The car salesman is singing a song to me, almost like a siren. "Come on in, buy this car and you will go far." So stupid, but I hand over the money and get in. Some one asks, "Why didn't you get the 396?" I did not want a race car, I replied.

The car turned into a weird spectacle. I stood still, but the world came by me. Whatever I imagined I saw, slowly coming by as if I were on a conveyor belt. Joe had to go into town to look at some houses his mother had picked out. We seemed to be on the same belt. Where he went, I went, along with the fox squirrel. That gray and white squirrel wanted to be friends, which was OK with me, but he had to quit biting my ass. It hurts, but it must be a squirrel thing, for he seemed to enjoy it. We made him wait in the lobby as we got into the broken down elevator with the house salesman. We watched the sides of the building go by as we ascended to the top floor. The door opens directly into the housing project apartment. Everything is neat and clean, stark contrast to all else that I had been seeing. Walking back into the living room, the woman lay on the bed trying to seduce Joe to buy the house. He is oblivious to her and her nakedness. The squirrel got off the elevator and we step out the window to the ground below.

Where did I meet Joe? Out of the sea of people, he is the only one I connected with. We don't speak, but we know. We were on the same conveyor belt going through the city's golf course. Everyone had on their visors and green shorts. Cocktail glasses were the golf clubs, olives were the golf balls and their mouths were the holes in one. Drunkenness and lust, people shoulder to shoulder, drunk with stupidity, all crowded togather, kept them standing. Everyone connected at some point by flesh, not one in the crowd that is not wired to someone else, but not touching.

So much information from the crowd. "I have the cure for baldness, guaranteed or double your money back." said the bald man with the rug. I have learned how to cure acne, diabetes and migraine headaches. Did you know that you can soothe and cool hemorrhoids with just one wipe from this miracle jar? I did not even know that I had hemorrhoids. I discovered by looking into this glass box that a bear does his business in the woods. If he does not use this brand, then he will have paper scraps left on his butt. His mother will use a lint brush to remove it. He at first would use a whole roll, but as he got older he learned to get by with a lot less. My life has been enriched by knowing all of this.

As I rode the belt to Grandpas' house the ground disappears again and the columns are the only way to navigate. It was a huge task to reach the swing under the giant pecan tree. When I reached the back porch, everyone disappeared. Uncle Buddy was gone a long time ago, then Grandpa, then Grannie and now dad. Who is next? Then I saw that old demon sneaking around. I had not seen him for a while, but he was always around, worrying the shit out of me, always in my mind. Some days I was strong and others I was not. What did he want? Leave me alone, go away. I had a plan to draw him in. I would drink to fool him, I would spin the chamber to entice him closer. I would cock the hammer to get him drunk. I would put the barrel to my temple to make him giddy. I did not look, but his foul oder got closer. He was giggling and the stink was so close that I could taste it. As he lost control, I spun around and shot him dead between his evil eyes. Freaking idiot, that damn fox squirrel was the demon.

Hi everyone!

I hope you don't mind me joining your group, I have added a couple of floral images as the colour blue for me makes me feel relaxed and loved.

A Peer of mine, and a fine artist, has made this discovery: I just wanted to make you aware that the page views have not been increasing for about 5 to 6 days. I have talked to the curator about it but he/she believes there is nothing wrong. On average I receive about 4 to 5 page views,sometimes more, per day. That has ceased. I also looked at other "elder" members and their page views have been at a standstill. If you also look at all the new members starting from about 5/6 days ago you will see that some of them have many stars and 0 page views. I have been trying to get people aware of the issue so they can alert the curator or other staff for this site. I know there is an issue because I have purposely visited peoples pages, looked all around, clicked on there profile several times and given stars. This should have increase their page view but it has not.

"More people claim BLUE as their favorite color than any other color (over 50%). Blue cars have been among the top selling cars for decades. Blue denim is the most common clothing material in the western world. Men and boys in particular favor blue."

BLUE can be a color for a diversity of feelings, meanings, and states of being. I invite you all to explore the "meaning of the blues" with me, through your Art, and submit your VERY BEST work to highlight this theme. Blue is not solely a color of sadness..and I hope this group we will be enjoying "blue skies" ahead together. I have some links below, to help thinking and feeling about this beautiful color.

I will delight in hearing your own comments about BLUE and seeing the meanings it evokes for you. It is not necessary for the image to have in it the prominent color of blue, as long as blue is the prevailing impact it has, and you take time to explain that in your notes. If it is not obvious to me, I may ask you to clarify the submission and its significance for it to be accepted in the group.

Thank you so very much for the Special Mention at the Blue Friday Lounge! I am very new to this social media stuff, but am so excited to be linked in to Blue Canvas and all the amazing artists sharing their work, it's incredible! It has been a while since I have received acknowledgement from and able to extend appreciation and compliments to a cohort of artists. Much of my time is consumed (in a good way) by my teaching responsibilities. Now on break between semesters, when I spend almost all of my free time in the studio, I was determined to join Blue Canvas! I am glad I did! Doing so, I have been introduced to an awesome group of artists from all over the world who, now because of technology, can create a virtual community. I want to thank Blue Canvas, you Rosie and all the artists who have commented on my work, awarded me stars, and taken time to look at my work. I am very appreciative and moved by folks' generosity!

BLUE can be a color for a diversity of feelings, meanings, and states of being. I invite you all to explore the "meaning of the blues" with me, through your Art, and submit your VERY BEST work to highlight this theme. Blue is not solely a color of sadness..and I hope this group we will be enjoying "blue skies" ahead together. I have some links below, to help thinking and feeling about this beautiful color.

I will delight in hearing your own comments about BLUE and seeing the meanings it evokes for you. It is not necessary for the image to have in it the prominent color of blue, as long as blue is the prevailing impact it has, and you take time to explain that in your notes. Hello out there in the great land of "BLUE." Just a quick final update with what happened with Hurricane Irene. First and foremost My Mom and I were very lucky and fortunate. The storm, for the most part, came through with only 40 mile and hr. winds with light rain. Five (5) miles to our West and East many homes were smashed and flooded. It seemed like we were spared...."Thank GOD." Thousands of homes have gone without electricity for many days. We never lost ours. We live on the shores of Long Island Sound in the great State of Connecticut, and, before the storm, I flew Mom out of harms way. We decided on Niagara Falls in Canada. I few out after the storm and spent a day with Mom and took in all the sights......My GOD, what a beautiful place to behold....Please enjoy the photos I have coming up shortly.....My Mom is calling now...."Rake the leaves out front before the neighbors begin to talk." O.K., looks like things are back to normal.....remember..."Have camera will travel."

11:00 am EST USA...Hurricane Irene is now downsized to a tropical storm...in my area of Connecticut many trees are down. Every-one is O.K. I can not come out until Monday afternoon...I will bring my camera for sure......It's always very blue and beautiful after a storm, photos will be grand. I will share more photos soon......remember ..."BLUE is number ONE ,and, "Have camera will travel."

8:15 EST on the shores of Long Island Sound on a beach in Connecticut...the rain is coming down now like I have never seen before and the wind is blowing strong...It is mandatory evacuation....must get off beach or else...of course it's dark, so, I'll be back for taking photos in the morning......headed North.......

I would like to invite anyone interested in trying their hand at choosing Features with me for next week's Feature gallery to let me know please?? I would like to share this exercise around with you all... I am happy to do the posting of the gallery, and share the selection process. This was the first time I had ever done this, and indeed, my first time hosting, so pardon me for mistakes, and faux pas.. but I see this as having been a wonderful learning experience. I invite anyone who would like to share the role to please come forward and not be shy. :))

Goodness- we have 22 pages of amazing BLUE art- thanks so much all- this has been such a powerful and confident launch- what an amazing group you are already!!! I will be working on introducing Feature Artwork and more soon!! having some glitches in posting new BLOGS and FORUMS today...:(( but hopefully, these will all be gone in the morning!!
