New Forum Post: Love Letters to our Children. Have you ever written a poem or letter to your child that you'd like to share? I put mine in already. http://groups.bluecanvas.com/HumanitarianArt/forum/post/1954
Personally I got turned on to the Humanitarian concept in my art after I spent 10 days holding abandoned kids, sick, dying kids in Haiti with a medical team. After that, I couldn't think of anything I'd rather do than take care of children who don't have families, and encourage others to adopt children. Here's my story: http://www.forthechildreninc.org/theartofhealing_files/TheArtofHealing.htm
It's Adoption Month. An article you may enjoy: It's Time to 'Think Different' About Adoption. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/11/19/its-time-to-think-different-about-adoption/

Thank for inviting me to this group. The work I'm currently doing totally falls under this category. Can't wait to produce more work and post! Awesome group
NEW POST IN THE FORUM! Please add your thoughts, as prosaically as possible on the subjects of "Lost and Found" and "What Color Means to Me" Have fun!
I LOVE the concept here and see that some very talented artists are here to discover and share. Thanks Gary:)
What seems like a long time ago (early 1990's) I did psychotherapy with people who wanted their lives to change. Sometimes I'd ask them "if you were now dying, taking your last breath, looking back over your life, what would you feel was your most important accomplishment?" They'd almost all respond: "Loving people."
Hello there, I've invited my self.. Hope that that's OK, this is a beautiful group with one great meaning!
Thanks for joining. You're welcome to spread the word around. We can't have too many people who want to promote the good in people, rather than just being different or weird as is so common among artists nowadays.
Thanks so much for the invitation- CONGRATULATIONS on this beautiful group and very best wishes with this venture!
Thanks for the invitation Gary - I'm honored. And I'll look through my portfolio and see what might be appropriate.
Humanitarian Art------ A new group on bluecanvas.com! Does your art or writing promote humanity in some way? Join this group and contribute to the promotion of life, love and passion!
Welcome to Humanitarian Art! Since the first caveman artists in Lascaux or wherever, painting people has been a primary source of inspiration for artists. So, lets inspire humanity with our art. Remember, we're also soliciting your original writing as well. Simply post stories, prose, poetry that you've written which also meets our definition of humanitarian art.

thanks....
