I think you give too much credit to digital art. Sure there are some digital artist who do have beautiful crisp edges and well defined subjects, but if you look at many in a format larger than your computer screen they begin to fall apart. You begin to see them as the layers and repetitive textures they are. Digital is just another painting medium, there are those that put the time and process into it and those who don't. However, I'm not saying using multimedia combinations is a bad idea, and I'm certainly not falling into the snake pit that is the discussion about modern photography.

i was thinking the other day... and i came to the conclusion that the only painting worth anything is one that would be impossible to reproduce digitally. collage pieces fall safely underneath this umbrella... i think that "fine art painting" (whatever that really means, anyways) must move to multi-media combinations to survive the onslaught of fantastic photography and precisely rendered digital art. Thoughts?
