This is a great group. Ink has become my favourite drawing tool lately. Some of my works I colour with pencils, but decided to add only black ink pictures. I hope they will be a contribution to this group. Thanks.
Thank you for letting me join your group! All of my drawings are done with my rapidograph pen (.18 is my weapon of choice). The color is added digitally. I fell in love with crosshatching when I first saw Victorian illustrations. Edward Gorey was my hero.
Thank you for allowing me to join this group, I usually use inks in some way in my work and am ecstatic to find a whole group of talented artist devoted to a medium.
Okay Gang!!!! Excellent work and So I have decided to show it off in the BLUE FRIDAY LOUNGE. Go to BLUE and join the fun, chat and laugh.
Thank you so much for the invitation to your group, Lord Templar. I've added the images we talked about. Good luck with your surgery and best wishes for the speediest of recoveries. Back surgery is tough.
General Message: I will be here on the weekends, but I won’t be hosting Blue Lounge or choosing features for a while due to upcoming back surgery. I will return to picking features as soon as possible.
I just finished coloring my very first Comic Book. A Collaborative effort with other artists and a writer. It's available in Sacramento, CA area - titled "No Apparent Reason" it's a paranormal type storyline.
Hi All! I'm a Dallas-based illustrator and gallery artist, working primarily with technical pen on scratchboard with a dark and cartoony style. Looking forward to seeing everyone's work!
Thank you, Chris, for featuring the "Lil' Critters" and the star as well! It was just kind of a quick little bit of questionably artistic shenanigan that popped into my head and I couldn't help it, I just had to do it.
Featured Artwork is now in the Forum on the left. I will be featuring artists' work each Friday. Congratulations and very well done!
Hey group, make sure that you have used ink in your works. Please list the media used in each piece you put up. I like to learn from each piece too. If I can't tell a piece is ink, I will remove it.
Thanks for the invitation! I haven't used ink in my work, but will keep my eye on the artists that do!

Thank you so much Chris for the lovely invite! This group looks amazing! Best wishes to everyone in the group! =)
Thanks so very much for the invitation, Chris!! Great idea for a group! I just wanted to ask you if you "allow" color, but I just saw that several members have added pictures other than b&w ink drawings. All of my drawings start out with a black ink outline and (often) added black ink patterns, but then I also add layers of pastel and colored pencils. Your gallery looks great already!
Thank you for the invite LT, I'm not a pen and ink user, but shall keep my eye on the lovely artists who do. :o)x
For all the PENANDINKS people we will have features each weekend after next. More information coming. Sign up and see you work in lights, LOL.
Oh Chris- CONGRATULATIONS HUN!!! I am not a pen n ink girl ... but I do LOVE this work!! Will be in to lend my cheers xxx
Thank you for the invite, but I strictly use Derwent Inktense Pencils and ganache.
That's too bad. I suspected as much because the ganache gave everything a 3D appearance. I much prefer Sennelier or Dr. Ph. Martin's Matte Black, and F&W Acrylic Inks over Inktense pencils.
Highly, over-educated...meh...Ganache is chocolate frosting and I use pen and ink. I've never heard of Derwent Inktense Pencils. ;)
I know what ganache is and I also know that you do pen and ink. I am surprised that you have not heard of Derwent Inktense Pencils. I figured that the chopped chocolate in the heavy cream would create a lumpy effect (i.e., 3D) effect on your pictures.
Yea, the Derwent Inktense Pencils I am unaware of. I keep it simple- pen and ink. No sense complicating something that has worked for so for so long. I grew tired of dipping into ink years ago so I stick with Micron pens now. I chisel them into the edges I want. I still use brushes with ink though.
That is interesting. I have never liked microns much, but chiseling their ends is a great idea. Have you tried Faber-Castell Pitt Drawing Pens? They have beautiful India Ink in them. I find the Microns a bit blue.

I hope you enjoy my work. I have often dabbled with pen and ink but all my works on BC were done in the mid-nineties when I was commissioned to illustrate the science-fiction journal 'Altair'. I may yet gravitate back to the medium as it is so hard to find the time and space for messier mediums (not to mention it is cheap!) This piece has already earned five stars so I hope it is worthy of display in your gallery. Let me know if you want to feature more of my work. The artists here are so inspiring.
